Early detection is critical when it comes to breast cancer, and Baptist Medical Center Yazoo is offering a free breast cancer seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
The hospital will provide a free lunch at the event which will be held from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at the local hospital.
Surgeon Erin Cummins, MD, will share information about signs and symptoms of breast cancer, tools for early detection and staging, and the latest in breast cancer fighting technologies.
Cummins is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, a fellow with the American College of Surgeons and a fellow with the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. She sees surgery patients at Baptist Yazoo on Wednesdays. Appointments may be made by calling 601-944-1781.
Screening mammograms are performed at Baptist Medical Center Yazoo Monday through Friday. Patients may call their physicians to get an order for their annual screening mammogram, and the hospital can provide them with a prompt appointment.
