Douglas Dozer and Excavator Service began demolishing the Jerry Clower Boulevard branch of the Bank of Yazoo City Wednesday. A new and larger bank will be built on the site. It is expected to be completed in Fall of 2018.

Peggy Jo King, 67, died Sept. 16, 2017 at her home in Yazoo City.
Funeral services are Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Parkview Church of God with Rev. Ken Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.

Melva Eldridge Gillis of Cutler Bay, FL was born in Yazoo County Mississippi on March 22, 1953 to the late Pearlie Harrell and Melvin Richard Eldridge. She passed through to God's embrace Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Augusta, GA.
