Cherokee Edwards fights for extra yardage in Yazoo County’s 48-0 win over rival Yazoo City in the Battle of Yazoo at Yazoo County High School. Edwards scored four touchdowns in the victory.

Satartia First Baptist Church is on the move when it comes to its Adopt-A-School program within the community. The church has adopted Bentonia Gibbs Elementary School and will be accepting uniform and school supply donations.

Shelton W. Burrough, 42, died Aug. 27, 2016 in Madison County.
Funeral services are Aug.. 31 at 2 p.m. at the Stricklin King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
